Property tax and rent rebate program expansion discussed with legislators

On August 25, 2023, legislators, Diakon staff and seniors gathered at the Mahanoy City Senior Center in Schuylkill County to discuss the announcement of the expansion of the property tax and rent rebate program for seniors throughout the Commonwealth. This expansion passed the House and Senate with near-unanimous bipartisan support. This plan results in nearly 175,000 additional seniors in Pennsylvania qualifying for a property tax or rent rebate.
